There comes a point when someone knows which vehicle they want. They've done the research and decided which model they want to own, however, the only decision left to make regards the year of the car or truck. Many people enjoy the compact style of the Ford Escape no matter which year they choose. The past four years of the Ford Escape are similar, but have a few small differences that need to be considered when choosing which one to buy.

The Ford Escape is a very popular sport utility vehicle. It's one of the most popular models of Ford automobiles because of the style and convenience. Most sport utility vehicles are known for their large and sometimes bulky design. Often, SUVs can't fit in regular parking spots because they are too long or wide. That's not the case with the Ford Escape. No matter which year is chosen, this model of Ford automobiles is a great compact SUV that can fit anywhere a car can.

The most recent version of this model is the 2007 Ford Escape. It has an average mile per gallon rating of 19 to 24 miles in the city and 23 to 29 miles on the highway, which is a very good mileage rating for sport utility vehicles. Most SUVs use up a lot of gas because of the sheer size of the vehicle. The 2007 Escape doesn't have the same gas problem as its competitors do because of the smaller design. They use up a lot less gas than other cars do. Buyers can currently choose between a four speed automatic and five speed manual transmission.

For an SUV that's a year older, the 2006 Ford Escape is a very popular model. The spacious interior design comfortably fits five passengers while still having a good amount of cargo room. As far as transmission goes, there are several choices for the 2006 Escape. For a four cylinder engine, the buyer can choose either a manual or automatic transmission. For a V6 engine, they can only choose automatic.

The 2005 Ford Escape is very similar to the more recent models, although quite a bit different from the 2004 model. It has much better interior than the year before. Some people complain about the interior of these sport utility vehicles, saying that it's too dark and small. The 2005 Escape was the first in this line to take care of that issue. The interior is roomier and brighter, making it very similar to a car. As an added bonus, it has a 3,500 pound towing capacity. So, not only can it hold a lot on the inside, but it can tow a lot as well.

The first model of this automobile to show the great exterior design is the 2004 Ford Escape. This year of the model was what put the Ford Escape on the map. It received great crash test ratings. At the time, sport utility vehicles were known for being much more unsafe than regular cars. The 2004 Escape blew the competition away with its five star crash test rating.

The thing that makes the Ford Escape so special is the choice of buying it in hybrid. Hybrid vehicles use a combination of regular gas and electric to power the car. The Ford Escape hybrid vehicles use much less gas than the regular models. They also put out fewer emissions, so it's better for the environment. All of the model years mentioned offer a hybrid version. The 2004 model was the first sport utility vehicle to come in a hybrid model. Since then, many people have been choosing Escape hybrid automobiles to save money and help the environment.

As far as prices go, it varies according to year. Each of the listed models came out at a very similar price. The 2007 Escape can currently be bought new from $19,320 to $26,380. This was the case when all of these were new. The other years, from 2004 to 2006, can't be bought new anymore. This can be an advantage, though. Now they can be bought at used prices, which is often much cheaper than the new version.

Since there are differences between each year of the Ford Escape, it's important to do research. If price is a concern, choosing an older model like the 2004 version would be the best idea. Also, seriously consider buying a hybrid Ford Escape. Not only will it save money on gas, but it will also do a great job in preventing harm to the environment.
